Big boost for Bute’s rural heritage resources - Webmaster @ 08:07 GMT

The Bute Conservation Trust, in conjunction with a number of public and private sector partners on the Isle of Bute, has successfully applied to the Heritage Lottery Fund for a Planning Grant in terms of the HLF Landscape Partnership Scheme, and will receive HLF funding of £46 600.00 towards a major planning Study that could lead to a programme of heritage conservation and environmental improvements totaling up to £1.8m.

Message from HRH Prince Charles to the people of Bute on 60th Anniversary of V-Day - Webmaster @ 10:04 GMT

HRH Prince Charles, who takes the title of Duke of Rothesay when in Scotland, wrote a message of support to the island which was read out on Sunday morning, during a special ecumenical service at Trinity Parish Church as part of the Isle of Bute’s weekend of V-Day commemorations.

The message and citation were read out by Kenneth MacKinnon, Lord-Lieutenant for Argyll and Bute, who is the Queen’s representative in the area, and who attended the service along with several other dignitaries.
