HUGE CROWDS ENJOY THE BUTE HIGHLAND GAMES IN BRILLIANT SUNSHINE - Webmaster @ 14:17 GMT

The Bute Highland Games took place at the Public Stadium, Rothesay, this past weekend (Saturday 21st) in wall-to-wall sunshine. Organisers are delighted with the turnout, with crowds estimated at over 5 000.

The final band processions down High Street at the conclusion of the event, with the sun setting over the town, were cheered enthusiastically by throngs of onlookers. Altogether a superb Games, and a wonderful day’s entertainment.

CALMAC TO PROVIDE EXTRA CAPACITY FOR THE BUTE HIGHLAND GAMES - Webmaster @ 10:39 GMT

Additional sailings by CalMac on the Wemyss Bay-Rothesay route have been arranged for this Saturday (21st August) to cater for the huge crowds expected to attend the Bute Highland Games.

MARYHILL HEADS FOR SCOTTISH BOAT SHOW - Webmaster @ 16:55 GMT

The recently-launched puffer Maryhill has left Isle of Bute's Ardmaleish Boatyard and is bound for the Scottish Boat Show at the Falkirk Wheel in Falkirk.

After the show it will be available for renting out for private leisure cruises on the Forth and Clyde Canal.

BUTE BOATBUILDING COMPANY LAUNCHES ITS SECOND BOAT THIS YEAR - Webmaster @ 11:29 GMT

Ardmaleish Boatbuilding Company in Port Bannatyne has launched the 12.8m long replica puffer Maryhill - the second vessel to be completed at the yard this year.
