Visit to the Isle of Bute by HRH Prince Charles is an unqualified success. - Webmaster @ 10:13 GMT

A dry, largely sunny day, and enthusiastic crowds, greeted HRH Prince Charles, The Duke of Rothesay, when he visited the Isle of Bute on Wednesday 2nd August.

The Prince was the Guest of Honour at the annual Bute Agricultural Society Show which was celebrating its 200th Anniversary. He spent nearly two hours doing the rounds of the various competitors and exhibitors, stopping here and there to interact with members of the public. The Duke of Rothesay then attended a function at Rothesay Castle, where he unveiled a very costly tapestry. Both before and after the Castle event he did a spontaneous ‘walk-about’ to greet people in the large and enthusiastic flag-waving crowd that had gathered outside the Castle to see him.

NOTE: a selection of photographs, recording some of the highlights of Prince Charles' visit, can be viewed in the special album that can be found in this website's Photo Gallery (see menu opposite). Or Click Here
