New Rothesay Harbour Ro-Ro ferry access expected to be in operation by October - Webmaster @ 11:14 GMT

Following the completion of Rothesay Harbour’s new end-loading linkspan, and positioning trials that have been carried out by MV Bute, using both her bow and stern ramps, it is now envisaged that the ro-ro access will be up and running during October; but full passenger access arrangements will have to wait until early next year, when it is hoped the new pedestrian bridge to the mid pier will be installed.

Once all the work is complete the inner harbour will be dredged and fitted out with pontoons, providing shelter for an additional 40 craft, with consequent benefits to the island's economy.
