After the opening of the Port Bannatyne Memorial Garden, the "Ayrshire Youth Voices" gave a memorable concert in St Ninian's Church in Port Bannatyne, with entrance charges being donated to the Red Cross. |

Several businesses entered into the spirit of things by creating special World War 2 theme window displays. |

The Isle of Bute Discovery Centre and Theatre hosted several events including maritime art exhibitions and the screening of World War 2 film classics. |

Well-known maritime artist Gordon Bouwens exhibited some of his work at the Isle of Bute Discovery Centre during the V-Day commemorations. |

In the week of Bute's celebrations Rothesay Bay was favoured with a 2-day visit from the Royal Dutch Naval vessel Zuiderkruis which visited the Isle of Bute prior to joining the international fleet which assembled in the Firth of Clyde ahead of a two-week-long military exercise in Scottish waters. |
